Esports is no longer an industry of the future — it is already one of the fastest-growing global businesses, connecting sports, technology, entertainment, investments and digital culture. That is precisely why this year’s festival of sports, esports and technology, Sunset Sports Festival, taking place in Zadar from June 4 to 6, will bring together some of the most influential names from the global esports, gaming and sports business scene. Confirmed speakers include His Royal Highness Prince Omar bin Faisal, President of the Jordan Esports Federation, Her Royal Highness Princess Sara bint Faisal Al Saud, Vice President of the Saudi Esports Federation, Claire Hungate, President and COO of Team Liquid, and Sam Molloy, Head of Commercial at HEROIC.

One of the key themes of this year’s edition will be the development of the global gaming and digital entertainment industry. The arrival of leading figures from the international esports scene confirms Saudi Arabia’s position as one of the world’s key players in the development of esports and digital entertainment, as well as one of the largest investors in the gaming sector. In recent years, the country has been heavily investing in gaming infrastructure, hosting some of the world’s biggest tournaments, building partnerships with leading esports organizations, and developing a national strategy aimed at becoming a global hub for esports and gaming.

Their participation at the regional sports business and esports festival Sunset Sports Festival further confirms the festival’s international significance, as it continues to bring together leading figures from the worlds of sports, media, technology and entertainment year after year. This year’s edition will also open discussions on the future of esports, emerging business models, investments, and the increasingly strong connection between traditional sports and digital entertainment.

Alongside representatives of the Saudi Esports Federation, Zadar will also welcome leading figures from some of the biggest organizations in the world of esports, including Claire Hungate, President and COO of Team Liquid, one of the world’s most successful and recognizable esports organizations, as well as Sam Molloy, Head of Commercial at HEROIC, the renowned Norwegian esports organization.

The Esports Stage program will also feature a series of discussions on the sustainability of esports organizations, the role of data and analytics in investments, and the development of the global esports ecosystem. Special focus will be placed on how esports is evolving beyond the format of individual tournaments and becoming a year-round ecosystem that connects communities, brands, technology and entertainment.

Alongside its extensive program dedicated to esports and the gaming industry, Sunset Sports Festival will once again feature discussions across its other festival stages focused on sports business, football, athlete performance and health. The Main Stage will host one of the region’s most renowned football agents, Andy Bara, while the Performance & Health Lab will welcome insights from Igor Štimac, football coach and former Croatia national team manager, as well as Jerko Leko, football coach and former Croatian international. Panel discussions will explore modern training methods, physical preparation and athlete development through experiences from professional sports.

Sunset Sports Festival continues to strengthen its position as one of the region’s leading meeting points for sports, esports, business and technology, bringing some of the most influential figures from the global sports and gaming industries to Croatia.
