Asst. Prof. Tomislav Madžar, MD, PhD, is a specialist in occupational and sports medicine, healthcare executive, and university lecturer. He is the founder and director of Life Medical Group, a healthcare network that brings together more than ten medical institutions across Croatia, and serves as assistant professor at the University of Applied Health Sciences in Zagreb. Throughout his professional career, he has also participated in the establishment and development of numerous healthcare institutions that continue to operate successfully today.Throughout his career, he has worked with professional football and handball clubs, as well as Croatian national football and handball teams, contributing as a member of medical and performance staff. His expertise combines clinical medicine, athlete health, performance optimization, and healthcare management.Dr. Madžar is vice president of the Institute for Sports Medicine and Health Improvement and president of the Croatian Society for Football Medicine within the Croatian Medical Association. He previously served as Special Advisor for Health and Sports to the President of the Republic of Croatia during the mandate of Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.He earned his MD and PhD from the University of Zagreb, where his doctoral research focused on psychological predictors of sports injuries in professional athletes. Alongside his medical specialization in occupational and sports medicine, he also completed postgraduate studies in healthcare management.He is actively involved in numerous national and international professional organizations, including health commissions within Croatian and international sports federations, and regularly participates in scientific and educational initiatives related to sports medicine, athlete wellbeing, and health policy.
