Martin is an Associate Teaching Professor in the IT, Analytics, and Operations Department at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in machine learning, sports analytics, human performance analytics and quantitative methods in Finance. Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin. He pursued both his master’s and Ph.D. in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Notre Dame, where his research focused on developing statistical methods for analyzing next-generation single-cell RNA-sequencing data. Before joining the Mendoza faculty in 2020, Martin worked as a data scientist at a human performance analytics company based in Dublin. In this role, he collaborated with elite sports teams to develop machine learning pipelines and drive data-driven strategies for injury prevention, performance optimization, and player development.
