Fred Caldeira has been a correspondent for TNT Sports Brazil based in Manchester since 2016. His role includes covering English clubs in the Champions League as well as the national competitions like the Premier League. He has covered five Champions League finals and is set to be at Wembley for this season’s final too.
Born in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, he grew up in Rio de Janeiro. As a Fluminense fan, his relationship with football is intertwined with Maracanã Stadium, which is a mere 10-minute walk from his parents’ house. His career as a reporter started in 2011 with Esporte Interativo, a Brazilian TV channel that has evolved to become TNT Sports Brazil. Before moving to England, Fred covered all the football competitions in Brazil and South America, and was also part of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Rio Olympics coverage.
In England, he’s been closely following the extraordinary work conducted by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool. You may have also seen him on the Netflix documentary (Together: Treble Winners) about City’s achievements last season.
